Went to a comcast center wanting an M card for my new purchased (still shipping) Refurb Roamino. Comcast Agent said that I should not get a card till I had the romanio, cause after 48 hours the card will not work?

Is comcast now per-authroizing the cards?
Also, I do NOT want HD. Sorry folks, SD is perfect for me and I don't like the look of HD. Too clear for me. I can see the make-up applied to the actors and such.
How do I tell comcast NO HD. If they gave it to me free, I might take it, but its an upcharge.
