I've got a question. My dad lives out in the sticks in Iowa somewhere, and he has a cable company that has no scrambled channels. He has a Premiere and records everything without a cablecard.
Question is, can a Roamio do the same thing? Will it still record non scrambled cable devices without a cablecard? I have a Roamio, but I also have AT&T Uverse, so I can't test that (I don't have UVerse TV for that reason, refuse to give up my TiVo - I'm antenna only).
Was thinking of getting him one of those refurb Roamio boxes with lifetime service - it's a heck of a deal, but I need to see if I can still record non scrambled cable channels on one. I'm pretty sure you can, but need to check.
