Household soon to be Tivo'd again

I nixed Tivo back in 2007 after DirecTV diddled me around by not grandfathering my channels I had for 10 years. At that point, Tivo wasn't playing ball with sharing of content, so I scrapped the whole thing. I built an HTPC with 4 OTA tuners and that (along with another build, extenders, Netflix, Hulu) has kept me and StacieH more than happy.

However, it looks like Windows media center is going the way of the dodo, and Tivo clued into what us cord cutters want. I had a decision: build another HTPC or go Tivo. We only have OTA antenna and have zero interest in anything else.

I went with both. Sorta. I'm going to refurbish the HTPC but I'm also going to get a Roamio. I figure the HTPC can be a backup recorder and network repository for my music and pictures. The Roamio (along with a mini and stream) can now be our primary TV/Content DVR.

It's nice to have choices. I'm now debating if I should get a 3TB drive or not. I'm a computer/techie guy, so physically replacing it isn't an issue. I just always worry about warranties and such.
