Recording Cut Short - 2X - At exact same spot!

Twice now....while recording NASCAR races on NBCSN, the recording cut off early (for no reason that I can think of) at exactly the same spot: 2:58. I set the recording to go 1 and 1/2 hours extra. The cutoff point was during the actual program and not during the extra time I programmed.

No conflicts. Plenty of space.

Weird!
