Slide Pro - learning on the INPUT button

I have a Slide Pro remote control. I've succeeded in teaching it the volume controls (up, down, mute) of my sound bar. I want to teach the Slide Pro INPUT button to be the UP button from the HDMI switch remote control. The learning process seems to go correctly. However, it doesn't work when I try to use the INPUT to change the HDMI switch.

My setup: I have a Samsung LCD TV (with Samsung sound bar) in the living room. Several roooms away, I have a dedicated A/V closet. The A/V closet contains: Tivo Roamio OTA, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung BluRay, ethernet switch, IR repeater, HDMI switch. The HDMI cables from the Tivo and FireTV and BlueRay go to the HDMI switch. From the HDMI switch, one HDMI cable goes to the TV in the living room. There is also an IR repeater cable from the A/V closet to the TV location in the LR.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
