I Recently purchased a base Roamio and have been using antenna- but as NFL and College football season are set to arrive I am considering switching to cable for 6 months (where I live it is difficult to get FOX in HD via antenna).
I called Charter and was told that if I use my TIVO box with a cable card I won't have all the features as their box. I've read in a few posts that VOD is out of the question. That's a potential bummer, but not necessarily the biggest deal.
One thing that does concern me is that the person on the phone said I might not get all the same channels as a customer with the Charter box. I also realize that sometimes CSR agents don't know everything, so I wonder is there any truth to this? Slightly concerned I'll be missing out on some options by using the 3rd party DVR.
piggy backing on this-another issue just cropped up..
Also, as I write this my TIVO randomly froze/crashed while watching Amazon Prime and then went to start up screen. It's playing fine now a few minutes later. Should I be concerned? Or is this just an example of technology being glitchy?
Thanks!
