I have an HD XL (658-000) that has been working like a champ since 2009, and have replaced the Hard drive and power supply caps in the past couple years.
However, yesterday morning I discovered that it had "forgotten" that it had lifetime service and it would not let me record anything until I activated it. The network connection was working correctly (manual connecting was successful) and my account still showed it as having lifetime service. I restarted the unit, and that seemed to solve the problem.
However, this morning I'm now discovering that it is randomly skipping recordings, both from season passes and manual one time recording that were set up long before this problem. Checking the history on the To Do List, it says that these recordings were skipped because "This program was scheduled with a Tivo plus service feature." and explains how to upgrade to Tivo Plus. I'm completely lost since other recordings during this time went off without a hitch.
Any ideas what is going on?
