I'm an OTA user who just made the switch from Windows Media Center to TiVo. I was using a computer with 4 tuners to record OTA, and multiple Xbox 360s as extenders. It worked great for many years, but with the newest versions of Windows and Xbox no longer supporting WMC, I made the jump to TiVo.
So far I am loving the TiVo setup. I have the Roamio OTA with lifetime service. I upgraded the internal hard drive to 3TB. I also have two Minis and a Stream. Everything has pretty much been working great. I'm looking forward to the fall TV season.
My only issues:
*I transferred multiple recordings from my TiVo to my PC using the TiVo Desktop software. They all played on the PC just fine. I deleted one of those recordings directly from the TiVo, and attempted to transfer the copy on the PC back to the TiVo. It began the transfer, but I guess it failed at some point, because it never showed up on the TiVo. When I attempt to transfer the recording again, I get an error message.
"Your request could not be processed. Please try again. (Message #86)."
"Sorry, you can't watch this program now, either because the Now Playing on PC TiVo box is no longer available the network or because the requested program could no longer be found.
Before trying again. make sure the Now Playing on PC TiVo box is turned on, connected to the network, has the correct network settings, and still contains the program you want to watch."
The TiVo sees the PC and the recording. The recording still plays on the PC. It just wont transfer.
*No downloading option on the Android app. No streaming over LTE on the iOS app.
Has there been any new word about when the mobile apps will have those features? Time frame?
