Ok, so I've been a Tivo user since way back with their first systems. We have three Series 3 systems today. From what I've read, the Roamio using minis is replacing duplicated Tivo boxes - at least that seems to be what Tivo is pushing these days.
I also just got an email from "my Tivo box" saying that it is tired and really would like to be replaced. Ok, marketing, I know, but their prices look pretty sweet, so I'm considering it.
1) So, this whole roamio plus minis things really works? You can be on one of the mini systems, set up shows to record and do everything that you would normally do with a Tivo box, but it is centralized?
2) Do you just need one mcard cable card to do this for all 6 channels? That would save me some money. I think that we have one box on lifetime and the other two on monthly. I could just get a lifetime pro version and a couple of minis and save both on the monthly and what comcast is costing me for the cards.
3) Any other advice as I consider this? I mean if it works as they say, it seems like the time is right.
