Installation done but ? amplifier OK to use . . .

So I took the advice from other posters and rerouted my new modem to be directly off the splitter entering the house from the street.
(that leg is about a 40 foot run that was installed by TWC to go directly to a tv in the kitchen which now goes only to my new modem).

But now the end of the other run (leg) that went thru 5 splitters to 4 tv's which ends in the kitchen into the mini and HDMI to the tv.

Now that I use that end of the leg to go into the mini in the kitchen tv I was getting the mini not connecting anymore, and the mini before it in the bedroom was losing its connection too. Even putting the coax directly into the tv (no mini) most of the stations out of the wall were breaking up.

I'm sure thats because TWC said I had a very hot signal and they came out and lowered it a little at the pole.

To solve the breaking up of the stations I added an amplifier that TWC put in at my former house which I took with me.
I added it just before the tri splitter (one leg goes upstairs to my bedroom tv, one goes to a bedroom and one to another bedroom to a mini and splits off to the kitchen mini) This way I think Im not boosting an already hot signal at the tv box in the living room.

Once I plugged in this amplifier it appears to have solved all my issues. The two mini's after the splitter came right online and when checking the channels out of the wall into the tv they are not stuttering anymore.

Tivo told me my signal at the box over the 6 tuners was hot last week . . . running SNR 36-39 where they like to see it at 35 for best picture.
So I ordered a few different coax attenuators ($1.99 each from American Electric). I tried the 3 db one first and it dropped the signal down to 80% from 95-99%. So I'm going to leave it running at the 36-39 SNR as others have said thats where they are running with no issues. I took off the 3db attenuator

My only concern is being I had a hot signal in the first place and this amplifier can bump it up another 15db it does not seem there is any backwash back to the tivo box.

Am I OK using this amplifier???
I really dont want TWC coming out again as they are clueless with this stuff.
As well they can be, since its my equipment. All I ask for is the proper signal coming into the house.
