Should I add lifetimed Premiere to my account to sell it?

I searched the forums for an answer on this but I couldn't find anything...

I have a lifetimed Premiere that I bought but haven't activated on my account. In order to resell it (and some other units I have - both on my account and off), is it best to activate it on my account before it finds a new home or just sell it as is? I'm hoping to resell the units to finance a Roamio upgrade and didn't know if there was a downside to adding a box to my account just before selling it, especially if there's more than one unit involved.
