It looks like some others are running into quirks with OnePass, some of which I've experienced.
Now I'm running into one I haven't heard/seen previously. I have a OnePass set for Columbo to record across all channels, recordings only, new & repeats & under 'Get in HD?' I've selected 'Never'. Since most weren't recorded in that great of resolution, many are 4:3 aspect ratio, etc I decided I'd rather keep as many around as possible and save space by recording in SD.
For the most part, things have worked fine, but in the last few months it's become increasingly frequent that episodes will record on Hallmark HD, which is channel 1310 on Cox cable locally. (310 is the non-HD channel) Here's the kicker - I can't say for certain this has happened every time, but of the recordings I've noticed all have been repeats of episodes already recorded. Example: As I write this, I have two copies of "Columbo Likes the Nightlife" (Season 10 Episode 14). The first recorded on channel 310 (Hallmark), then a couple months later it recorded on channel 1310 (Hallmark HD) WHILE THE FIRST RECORDING IS STILL PRESENT. The description & metadata for both is the same, so Tivo shouldn't be recording this regardless. It's a duplicate, with nothing unique in the data for the second recording. Any chance there's some difference at Tribune's end I can't see? (in the way they've coded the metadata)
When I call Tivo tech support, I can hear their shoulders shrugging through the phone as they tell me "You have to pick one channel if you don't want HD" This is AFTER they've agreed the functionality ought to be recording SD only & avoiding HD channels. Of course, they put me on hold in between, so it's very possible a supervisor gave them a generic answer to brush off the problem. If I pick only one channel, it's possible I'll miss a good number of recordings.
Seems to be an obvious bug but the tech support reps with whom I've spoken don't seem interested in submitting it as such. Suggestions?
