I took advantage of the sale, $50.00 for a refurb Roamio (looked new), and $250 for the lifetime sub.
The much faster interface is wonderful, no long pauses when going from one page to the next. The interface is a bit cluttered though, but I cleaned it up a bit by removing unwanted sources.
Next day, I popped a 3TB drive into it, did the whole setup again (Ugh) and transferred all my shows from the old to the new one.
Tip: Unfortunately, they still don't have a way to easily transfer your channels list setup between units, so I ran through the channels list on the old unit and used the voice recorder app on my phone to narrate what channels to uncheck, or keep. Then, while playing it back, I made the changes on the Roamio. It worked much better than writing it all down, then working from the list..-
Running a full wipe on the S3. I'll keep it for a while as a spare, in case the Roamio dies early, then try to sell it (Too many lifetime S3's already on Ebay though)
